A Spooky Twist on Family Photography: My Ghost Photoshoot

As a family photographer, I’m always looking for ways to capture not just faces, but feelings. Recently, I decided to take a playful detour from traditional portraits and try something a little different .... a ghost photoshoot!

You may have seen this trend popping up on social media: white sheets and a spooky setting. I couldn’t resist giving it a try, and it turned into such a fun and creative project that I knew I had to share it.

Bringing the Ghost Photoshoot to Life

For this session, I headed into the woods near Coventry with just a couple of simple props: plain white sheets and a sense of humour. The results were magical, ghostly figures gliding through the trees, striking silly poses, and turning what could have been a gloomy autumn day into a memory filled with laughter.

What I loved most about this shoot is that, even hidden under sheets, personalities still shone through. From the way someone stood to how they moved, every photo told its own story. It reminded me that family photography isn’t only about smiling at the camera, it’s about capturing the little quirks that make your family yours.
